Kensington Introduces New Line of Eco-Friendly Packaging to Reduce Environmental Impact

Sustainability Initiative Includes Goal of 99 Percent Recyclable Packaging Across the Entire Kensington Product Line by the End of 2021

San Mateo, CA – July 27, 2020Kensington®, the worldwide leader of desktop computing and mobility solutions for IT, business, and home office professionals and The Professionals’ Choice, announced a new line of eco-friendly packaging, with a goal of implementing sustainable packaging across the entire Kensington product line by the end of 2021.

Every year, packaging alone accounts for tons of non-recyclable waste when the plastic and other materials used are not fully recyclable. To help reduce plastic waste, Kensington is switching to earth-friendly, plant-based packaging that is easy to read, open, and recycle. The Forest Stewardship Council™ (FSC)-certified packaging uses chlorine-free paper, water-based varnish, plant-based soy ink, and matte oils.

“Sustainable packaging is the first area of focus in our continuous efforts to reduce global environmental impacts through sustainable and responsible practices, said Gwen Hsu, VP Global Product Development at Kensington. “Our eco-friendly packaging also helps to reduce our carbon footprint by making shipping itself more sustainable.  The packaging and materials are lighter and less bulky which helps keep products protected during shipping while enabling more efficient pallet configurations that save on fuel necessary for transport.”
