The Channel Chief Honor Represents Kensington’s Commitment to Helping Partners Address Customer Challenges, Boost Higher Margins and Continue Partner Program Investments

Kensington, The Professionals’ Choice announced today that CRN®, a brand of The Channel Company, has named Matthew Dargis, Vice President of US Sales, to its prestigious list of 2018 Channel Chiefs. The executives on this annual list represent top leaders in the IT channel who excel at driving growth and revenue in their organization through channel partners.

Channel Chief honorees are selected by CRN’s editorial staff on the basis of their professional achievements, standing in the industry, dedication to the channel partner community, and strategies for driving future growth and innovation. Each of the 2018 Channel Chiefs has demonstrated loyalty and ongoing support for the IT channel by consistently promoting, defending and executing outstanding channel partner programs.

Dargis was selected as a 2018 Channel Chief based on the incredible impact that he has had during his first year at Kensington. He designed and built a new channel-marketing organization dedicated to further developing channel and strategic partner relationships. This magnified partner focus continues to build channel and strategic relationships as well as enhancing future product development plans based on partner feedback. Through a  combination of acquiring new partners and strengthening existing partner relationships, his team grew partner sales by more than 30%. This sales growth was driven by resilient performance in K-12 education, federal agencies, and small and mid-sized businesses across multiple industries.

“The executives on CRN’s 2018 Channel Chiefs list stand out for their exceptional leadership, vision and commitment to the channel,” said Robert Faletra, Executive Chairman of The Channel Company. “These individuals deserve special recognition for their development and support of robust partner programs, innovative business strategy and significant contribution to the overall health of a vigorously growing channel. We applaud each Channel Chief’s impressive record of accomplishments and look forward to their future successes.”

“I am fully committed to working with our partners to ensure their success,” said Dargis. “As an example, when I met with one channel partner early in 2017, their sales were declining year-on-year, and they were dissatisfied. I scheduled monthly calls and met with them in person several times until each of their concerns was addressed to their satisfaction, as well as to my own. As part of the solution, we added a new salesperson to the account and invested additional marketing funds. Within 120 days, we had worked together to help them achieve 50% growth.”

When asked about his plans for growing channel relationships in 2018, he states, “We anticipate the trend toward online sales to continue to grow. As our competitors increasingly treat the B2B channel like consumers, we are listening to our partners and working hard with them to meet their needs. In particular, we are ensuring that they can compete with online pricing and are refining our processes to ensure accelerated approvals on large opportunities where they can compete profitably.”

The 2018 CRN Channel Chiefs list, including the 50 Most Influential Channel Chiefs, is featured online at www.crn.com/channelchiefs and will appear in the February 2018 issue of CRN.
