Awards Salute Outstanding Education Technology Products

Kensington®, a worldwide leader of desktop computing and mobility solutions for IT, business and home office professionals and The Professionals’ Choice for 35 years, today announced that the company’s AC12 Security Charging Cabinet has been named a winner in Tech & Learning magazine’s 34th Annual Awards of Excellence, in the New Product category.

The prestigious 34-year-old program honors software, hardware, network, App and Web products that include innovative applications that break new ground, as well as those that added significant enhancements to proven education tools. A panel of T&L advisors who tested hundreds of entries, chose the winners.

The AC12 Security Charging Cabinet for Chromebooks & Tablets was designed to secure, power and store multiple devices at once, with features that make it flexible and easy to use in different environments.

“Once again this year, the Tech & Learning judges examined hundreds of entries to select those products that were deemed worthy of our 2016 Award of Excellence. This wasn't just checking off spec sheets and surfing other people's reviews. Each product was handled and scored individually. Not an easy task,” said Kevin Hogan, Editorial Director for NewBay Media's Tech & Learning Group. “These companies can be proud that our team of judges granted them their seal of approval.”

With more tablets, Chromebooks, and 2-in-1 hybrids being deployed in classrooms, healthcare offices and retail or hospitality businesses, the need for a solution that can store, charge and secure those devices overnight is greater than ever. The AC12 Security Charging Cabinet features slide-out drawers that provide an easier check-in/check-out experience for mobile device users and administrators. The cabinet holds 12 devices measuring up to 14”, and with the cabinet running on AC power, it can safely charge all 12 devices simultaneously.

“We are honored to have received this award from Tech & Learning magazine, knowing it experienced a rigorous evaluation process” said Louie Yao, Senior Global Product Manager, Kensington. “The award represents our commitment to excellence in engineering, industrial design and product quality, and inspires us to continue setting the highest standards for the development of all our products.”
