A: Yes, with the latest DisplayLink® driver installed, it works with Windows, Chrome, and macOS laptops using Thunderbolt™ 5, Thunderbolt™ 4, USB4®, or USB-C®. Note that bandwidth is limited to 5Gbps.
A: Yes, for USB-C® laptops that support Power Delivery, this dock can support up to 100W of laptop charging. Please check the specs of your laptop or contact us and we can help you identify if your USB-C® port supports Power Delivery.
A: Windows 10 or above, macOS 11 or above, Chrome OS 114 or above.
A: Once the latest DisplayLink® driver is installed, this dock supports up to three external displays: one at 4K @ 30Hz and two at 1080p @ 60Hz for MacBooks with M1, M2, M3, or M4 chipsets. Without DisplayLink® driver installed, the dock will support only one external display via USB-C Alt mode
A: With the latest DisplayLink® driver, this dock supports up to three external displays (one at 4K @ 30Hz and two at 1080p @ 60Hz) on Windows laptops with USB-C Alt Mode. Without Alt Mode, it supports up to two 1080p @ 60Hz displays via DisplayLink®.
A: DisplayLink® technology is a codec transmitted over a USB connection that delivers crisp text and graphics. It's highly recommended to install the latest DisplayLink® driver before use. Download it here: https://www.synaptics.com/products/displaylink-graphics/downloads
A: When using this dock to watch videos on streaming platforms with HDCP protection, temporarily disable the DisplayLink® driver from your taskbar. This workaround allows you to view the video on one external monitor connected to the HDMI 1.4 (USB-C® Alt Mode) video port. After streaming, simply re-enable the DisplayLink® driver to use up to three displays again.
A: Yes, the dock is fully compatible with a laptop that has a Thunderbolt™ 5 or 4 port, however, it will not deliver the maximum bandwidth of Thunderbolt™ 4 or 5 , but rather deliver what the dock supports (Up to 5Gbps for this dock).
A: The SD4760P dock uses DisplayLink® technology, so even if your USB-C laptop doesn’t support DisplayPort Alt Mode, it can still drive up to two 1080p @ 60Hz displays. If your USB-C host supports Power Delivery, it can provide up to 100W of charging.
A: Yes. This dock features KonstantCharge™, which allows connected devices to charge even when the host laptop is not connected.
