A: The MK7500F mechanical keyboard is compatible with macOS and Windows.
A: The MK7500F does not require software to function. However, we highly recommend downloading the optional Kensington Konnect™ for Keyboards software to help you get the most from your new keyboard. The software will provide you with opportunities to program keys, create macros, adjust key mappings, manage profiles, and more.
A: You can connect up to five active devices to the MK7500F mechanical keyboard—three via Bluetooth®, one using the included 2.4GHz USB receiver for a reliable connection up to 10 meters away, and one using the included USB-A cable so you can charge and use the keyboard at the same time.
A: Yes, the MK7500F provides 128-bit AES government-grade encryption security under 2.4GHz connection.
A: The MK7500F has been tested to last up to 90 hours after a full charge, even with the backlight at 100%.
A: The MK7500F is quieter than normal conversation or background music. It combines Kailh Midnight Pro Silent Tactile switches with sound dampening pads—so you can type with confidence knowing that you are not distracting others or disrupting a call or meeting.
A: The MK7500F provides a reliable connection up to 10 meters away when your host device and the keyboard are within line of sight with no obstacles. This will vary by use and computing conditions. If your computer or mobile devices don’t support Bluetooth Class One, the working distance will be limited to under 10 meters.
A: Yes, the MK7500F is compatible with cross-shaped keycaps.
A: No, the switches on the MK7500F cannot be replaced since they are a soldered design.
A: While the MK7500F is verified and tested to protect your mechanical keyboard from the accidental spills that occur in busy workspaces, certified to meet IPX4 standards, the keyboard cannot be washed. However, the MK7500F provides wipe down protection and meets MIL-STD-810H Method 504.3 Contamination by Fluids with disinfectants with no degradation (no visual degradation or inability to use as directed upon test completion).
A: If you spill a liquid on your MK7500F, you should drain the liquid out as soon as possible. If you spilled something other than water, pour a small amount of water on the area of the spill until you cannot see any remnants of the spilled liquid on the keyboard. This will help prevent any stickiness or stains. Lastly, ensure no liquid remains in or on the keyboard by putting the keyboard in a vertical position, and ensure all the liquid drains from the hole in the bottom. You can wipe the external components of your keyboard with water or mild disinfectant to further clean it.
A: Yes, the storage slot for the 2.4Hz dongle is located within the bottom of the keyboard.
A: Once the low battery indicator turns red, we suggest charging the keyboard by the end of the day to ensure uninterrupted keying for subsequent days. The rechargeable MK7500F battery will need 4 hours of charging to reach full capacity.
A: No, the dust cover is for protecting the keyboard against dust and other airborne debris.
A: The easiest way to determine which mode you are in is to press Fn+O/P to switch between operating systems. if the OS is switched, the top right indicators will flash 3 times. Otherwise, if you press the combo key, but do not see the flashing indicators, it means you are already in the desired OS.
A: To clean any dust residing inside the keyboard, we recommend purchasing the keyboard cleaning kit. To clean the keycaps and frame of the keyboard, you may gently wipe any of the external components of the keyboard using a soft cleaning cloth with bleach, water, other mild disinfectant.
A: The MK7500F’s meeting control keys are pre-programmed to work with Microsoft Teams video conferencing software and more. We recommend downloading our Kensington Konnect for Keyboards software to support mapping the meeting keys other video conferencing programs and further customizing your keyboard functionality.
A: Yes, the backlight is connected to the operating system being used and the switch OS feature memorizes each connection method. The default is Windows and you can switch the keycode to macOS as desired.
A: Yes, you can use the keyboard without the wrist pad, however, it is provided to help you benefit from proper ergonomic positioning for your hands and wrists.
A: To activate a multimedia key function, simply press Fn + key. You can also further customize keys by downloading our optional Kensington Konnect for Keyboards software.
A: The charging cable is 70.9in (180cm) long.
A: Yes, you can use any USB-A to USB-C or USB-C to USB-C cable for a wired connection.
