BlackBelt Rugged Cases with Integrated CAC Readers for Surface Pro and Surface Go Provide Military-Grade Device Protection and Convenient Access to Critical Networks and Systems
SAN MATEO, Calif. – July 28, 2020 – Kensington®, the worldwide leader of desktop computing and mobility solutions for IT, business, and home office professionals and The Professionals’ Choice, enhances the mobility and functionality of Microsoft Surface Pro and Surface Go devices with the BlackBelt™ Rugged Cases with Integrated CAC Readers. Ideal for military and government workers, the cases deliver an all-in-one solution that provides military-grade drop protection and eliminates the need to carry a separate CAC reader to access protected networks.
Protection and Access for Maximum Mobility
The TAA-compliant BlackBelt™ Rugged Case with Integrated CAC Reader for Surface™ Pro (compatible with Surface Pro 7, 6, 5 and 4) and BlackBelt™ Rugged Case with Integrated CAC Reader for Surface Go and Surface Go 2 incorporate FIPS 201-compliant smart card readers that support class A, B and C for secure access to the device and protected networks. Read-Only Memory (ROM) ensures that data is never stored, so it cannot be compromised. The BlackBelt cases, which provide access to all ports so there is no need to remove the case for everyday use, meet the MIL-STD-810G specification to provide shock protection for all device surfaces.
Designed for Convenience and Ease-of-Use
The BlackBelt Rugged Cases feature a pen holder and tether to conveniently secure and store the Surface Pen, and the device easily can be secured with a Kensington cable lock when left unattended. A rear camera cover allows for use of the camera and keeps the lens protected when not in use. A self-adjusting hand strap provides users with a firm grip when the device is in use and stows flat when not in use allowing the device to lie flat and stable. The BlackBelt case features a kickstand opening to allow full use of the integrated Surface kickstand and includes a keyboard holder to secure the Surface keyboard when in use.
“The CAC card is the key to providing secure access to government computer networks and systems for our government workers and military members around the world,” explained Louie Yao, Director of Global Product Management at Kensington. “Individual CAC readers can provide users required connectivity on their mobile devices, but can easily be misplaced resulting in loss of productivity or worse in a mission-critical situation. Our BlackBelt Rugged Cases are the ideal solution for these users by combining an integrated CAC reader, robust shock protection and tethered storage for the Surface Pen, greatly enhancing the mobility of the Surface device and ensuring that they have access to critical systems anytime, anywhere they need it.”
