VeriMark Fingerprint Key Continues to Earn Accolades for Superior Biometric Performance and Best-in-Class Cyber Security to Protect Against Unauthorized Access to Devices

Kensington®, a worldwide leader of desktop computing and mobility solutions for IT, business and home office professionals and The Professionals’ Choice, announced today that its VeriMark™ Fingerprint Key has been honored with a CES 2018 Best of Innovation Award in the Computer Accessories product category. The CES award is the newest in a series of accolades that include recognition by Security Today, North American Office Products Awards and, most recently, LAPTOP Magazine with a four-star review.

Products entered in the program are judged by a preeminent panel of independent industrial designers, independent engineers and members of the trade media to honor outstanding design and engineering in cutting edge consumer electronics products across 28 product categories. Kensington’s VeriMark Fingerprint Key was not only chosen to be an Honoree, but the judges felt that it is the most impressive technology in its product category, scoring higher than all the rest.

The first of its kind anywhere in the world, the Kensington VeriMark Fingerprint Key combines superior biometric performance and 360-degree readability with anti-spoofing technology and fingerprint activated collaboration capabilities. Designed to meet Windows Hello security requirements, the key allows users without a fingerprint sensor in their computers to enjoy the benefits of faster, more secure login that Windows Hello affords. And, businesses whose employee computers do not have biometric authentication capabilities, can easily deploy the fingerprint key without having to replace an entire fleet of laptops. The VeriMark Fingerprint Key is optimized for Windows Hello, Windows 10 and is compatible with Windows 7/8.1.

“It is truly an honor to have received the CES 2018 Best of Innovation Award for our VeriMark Fingerprint Key,” said Ada Yang, Senior Global Product Manager, Kensington. “The fingerprint reader, which integrates the smallest size touch sensor available in a compact design, represents the innovation, quality and trust that have made Kensington the standard in device security for more than 25 years.”

The prestigious CES Innovation Awards are sponsored by the Consumer Technology Association (CTA)™, owner and producer of CES 2018, the global gathering place for all who thrive on the business of consumer technologies, and have been recognizing achievements in product design and engineering since 1976. Products chosen as CES Best of Innovation Honorees reflect innovative design and engineering in some of the most cutting edge tech products and services coming to market.

Kensington’s VeriMark Fingerprint Key will be displayed at CES 2018, which runs January 9-12, 2018, in Las Vegas, Nevada. Best of Innovation Honorees are also displayed at CES Unveiled New York, which features dozens of exhibitors and networking opportunities on November 9 at the Metropolitan Pavilion in New York.
