Kensington Supports Modern Digital Classroom with New Universal Charging Cabinet for Mobile Devices and a Wired Keyboard for iPad

  • June 30, 2014

New Products Will Make Their Debut at ISTE 2014 in Atlanta

Redwood Shores, CA – June 30, 2014 – Kensington, a worldwide leader in delivering smart. safe. simple. mobile accessories, today announced the introduction of  its new Universal Charging Cabinet for Chromebook and Tablet, as well as a Wired Keyboard for iPad® with Lightning Connector to be used in school environments. The products will be available for preorder in July online at Kensington.com.

Chromebooks accounted for almost 20 percent of the mobile computing market for K-12 schools in 2013. U.S. schools are expected to purchase 3.5 million tablets by the end of the year, according to industry analysts. The need for smart accessories to enhance the learning process between educators and students continues to grow. As Chromebooks, laptops and tablets are deployed into classrooms, testing labs and libraries, the need for convenient and secure storage in the classroom also increases.

Kensington’s latest products are built to be the perfect companions for mobile devices used in school. The universal cabinet is a charging solution that ensures Chromebooks, laptops, and tablets are ready to use when class begin in the morning, while also offering tamper-resistant security that will keep these expensive devices safe when not in use. The wired keyboard makes it easy to meet Common Core Standards when conducting tests with the iPad Air and iPad 4th gen tablets.

“Students deserve the very best education we can give them and that means providing them with the latest technology to enhance their learning,” said Judy Barker, Senior Global Product Manager at Kensington. “Our company is committed to designing products that educators can count on to make modern learning as seamless as the mobile devices they are using.”

Kensington will be at ISTE 2014 in Atlanta, Ga., to show off its newest line of products. Visit Kensington at Booth #1353 from June 30-July 1, 2014 and get the full story on all of the latest school offerings including solutions for mobile device power, protection, and productivity enhancement.
